I'm very sorry and disappointed that your message did not get forwarded to me automatically! This is a relatively new server for my website, and my old one did send out messages directly to my email. But, I'm delighted that you enjoyed my work! Unfortunately, I've pretty much retired from teachiing on a regular basis: since we do travel so much it's almost impossible to have classes at regular intervals. However, if you're in Ithaca, and still interested, I could arrange for a lesson or two to give you the basics. When I teach, my goal is to give my students the means to fulfill their own personal objectives. I provide information about, demonstrate, and show paintings that exemplify various pastel techniques; discuss and show the different tpes of pastels and papers and their influence on the finished painting; and provide students with demonstrations, assistance and support. Since this would be a private lesson, my fee would be $50 for each one-hour lesson which would include not just explanations and demonstrations, but time for you to actually work with the pastels.
